Location: Dallas, Texas
For this restaurant concept refinish, we wanted to break up the linearity of the existing space with subtle curves and a light material palette. We wanted to combine light and airy finishes on in elevation with deep grounded colors and natural woods in plan. We wanted to give the space a simple yet modern touch, complete with modern art walls and installations, for a cohesive gallery feel.
A curved vertical wood slatted wall separates the entrance host stand and waiting area from the enclosed restrooms behind. Accent cove lighting washes down portions of the slats for a further added dimension and allows this area to become a clear separation point from the two separate restaurant areas on either side. On one side, Floor to ceiling windows run along the main storefront. White vertical stacked tile walls transition into an open bar and kitchen expo, square ceramic tile, separated by a marble bar height dining space with views of the main kitchen. Fabric tufted bar fronts with recessed accent lighting give the curved bar detail and dimension. Finishes run into the space on the opposite side for a full continuously cohesive space. Complete with a comfortable seating, simple modern fixtures and abstract artwork and ceiling light integrated installations, this space becomes a casual and intimate Dallas dining space.
