The aim for the Archfellow office was one driven by the need to transition into a modern and flexible work space. As we are pushed forward into a hyper tech-driven world, we are forced to think about how the work space follows, what amenities fit with that narrative and how we keep the boutique-designed aesthetic that doesn’t border on sterile. Archfellows aimed to be a study on how we envision this workspace to look and function.
We tackled this office space from both an office and hospitality design lens. We created a plan that incorporated the programmatic elements of necessary functional spaces while pushing boundaries of those that could, and finally dressing it in an upscale, yet contemporary layer.
Archfellows carefully balances the contemporary space with the warm ambiance that is typically seen in the hospitality environment. The entry reception desk is clad in full black marble with gold custom cut lettering. Behind the desk are modern, plastered arches wrapping the walls open on one side to organically transition into the main office spaces. Within the office spaces range from fully enclosed to fully open, spanning everything in between. A large floor to ceiling wood-clad custom shelving wall fills the entire lounge space, while semi-permanent office spaces are painted in dark, grounded colors and layered with moody contemporary lighting. A custom mini auditorium is clad in wood with custom pillow seats, complete with convenience outlets for flexible work space throughout the day. Archfellows encompasses a comfortable and inviting space that allows for user flexibility during the work day.
