Approach

Quill aimed to elevate the design district bar, relying on carefully designed details and luxury finishes. We looked to the speakeasy for inspiration and aimed to combine a hard shell with soft finishes for a contrasting, decadent experience.

Outcome

This long narrow venue, with a main entrance at the front is separated into a lounge seating area, dining room and a private dining room. A bar runs along one wall servicing all separate areas, complete in custom brass millwork and lined in brass fixtures. Black and white large hex tiles laid out in a diamond pattern contrast with the emerald green bar face marble tile and the classic wood paneled black wainscot wall that transitions into raw concrete plaster walls and vaulted ceilings. An uplit black ribbon design beautifully wraps across the vaulted ceiling throughout the space for an underground speakeasy feel. Emerald green fabric furniture fills the space finished with brass detailing that continues onto door hardware and plumbing fixtures in the restrooms. Strategically selected colors and material, intimate lighting and fine details give life to this out of the ordinary Dallas bar and lounge experience.
